About 3D Cymatics

Cymatics is the study of visible sound and vibration. This simulator demonstrates how sound frequencies create geometric patterns in 3D space.

How to Use

• Frequency: Adjust the vibration frequency (20-500 Hz)
• Amplitude: Control the intensity of vibration
• Boundary Shape: Choose between plate, sphere, or cube
• Audio Input: Use your microphone for real-time audio visualization
• Presets: Try known frequencies that create interesting patterns

Camera Controls

Physics Model

The simulation uses a 3D wave equation to calculate standing wave patterns. Particles settle at nodal points where vibration is minimal, creating the characteristic cymatic patterns.
